Abstract
Body language is not only widely used in communication but also in teaching. Teacher’s body language is a teacher’s individual actions and gestures. Teachers use it every moment and it plays unique role in the classroom. A lot of psychologists and sociologists have done plenty of research in body language these years on its characteristics, classifications, definitions and functions. After lots of research, it shows that body language is related to the affinities between teacher and student, and at the same time it also affects student’s learning attitude and achievements.
As body language can help teacher to motivate student’s interest and improving teaching skills, we should be equipped with sufficient knowledge of body language. This paper mainly discusses what is body language, why is importance of using body language in class and how to use body language to make English class more efficient.
