Abstract
As a global language, English plays an increasingly key part in international political, economic, and cultural exchanges. Influenced by Chinese mind, Chinese inevitably appear to use Chinglish no matter in oral or written English communication. Chinglish is known as English with Chinese characteristics and it cannot be understood or accepted by most English-speakers, and even misinterprets what we actually want to express, seriously hindering the cross-cultural communication. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on reducing Chinglish translation.
This article first defines translation, and explains the standards and techniques of translation in detail, then, it comes to the background and reasons of Chinglish in Chinese-English translation. Methods on Bridging Chinglish Gap in translation to achieve an authentic and fluent communication effect is the key point.
