Abstract
China and the West have different historical development paths and different language backgrounds, which leads to many differences in culture and business etiquette. In this paper, the differences between Chinese and Western culture and business etiquette are discussed. The western countries mainly aim at the native English speaking countries, such as the United States. With the increasingly fierce international trade competition, English, as an international language, plays a very important role. When English is used in business occasions, business English is formed; etiquette formed in cross-cultural communication is business etiquette. Under the background of the continuous progress of global economic integration and the establishment of many free trade zones, it is of great significance to explore the cultural differences between the West and China and the differences in business etiquette for cross-cultural business communication.
