Abstract
Language and culture are inseparable, they depend on each other and influence each other, and idioms are the essence of language. The English language and the Chinese language are two languages with a very long history, owning a huge amount of idioms, and most idioms are commonly used by the people for a long time, They include colloquial expressions,set phrases, slang, proverbs,two-part allegorical sayings,colloquialisms, Due to the influence of different culture, idioms are often contain the different ethnic groups of different cultural characteristics and cultural information, closely connected with cultural tradition.This paper analyzed idioms from different cultural perspectives.It also analyzes the influences on the English-Chinese idioms by the factors, just like the different Geography, religion, history, customs. Only by understanding the two ethnic groups and cultural origin, can we smoothly learn idioms, and really achieve the goal of international language.
