Abstract
The Great Gatsby is a famous novel by Fitzgerald.The novel has been translated into many languages and versions.Based on Skopos theory, this paper compares and analyzes two different types of Chinese translation.Both versions have unique functions (Wu ningkun and Yao Naiqiang).Since its inception in 1970s, Scopos theory has attracted the attraction of more and more scholar.It breaks the traditional concept of equality, enriches translation theory and provides a new perspective for translation studies and practice.
