THE COMPARISON OF PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND DREAM OF THE RED CHAMBER IN WOMEN’S ATTITUDE TO MARRIAGE
摘 要
本文首先从研究十八世纪英国和中国社会制度与婚姻制度，指出两者之间的相似与差异；然后通过对比薛宝钗与夏绿蒂的婚姻观和林黛玉与伊丽莎白的婚姻观及其产生背景，从而阐述这两部作品中女性不同的婚姻观。

ABSTRACT
The paper first studies Britain and China's social system and the institution of marriage in the eighteenth century, and find out the similarities and differences between them. And then I will expound the women’s attitude to marriage in these two works by comparing Xue Baochai and Charlotte’s attitude to marriage, Lin Daiyu and Elizabeth's attitude to marriage and its background.
