Abstract
Female independent personality, independence is a kind of ability, can make you very good at surviving in different environment. Female independence has two layers: the significance of economic independence, independent personality. Many books are about female independent personality, the 《Gone with the wind》 is the very good book about female independent personality in history of literature, Gone with the Wind is one of the most popular American novels, which is written by American female writer Margaret Mitchell .The novel is encourage women liberated from marriage and family, for economic and personal independence. The novel mainly describes the life of Scarlett. Scarlett’s independent personality can be divided into three aspects: Before the outbreak of war, Scarlett’s Rebellion against Social Restrictions; During the civil war, She wants to feed her family and herself through her own work; and after the war, Scarlett sticks to managing the sawmill herself. She puts her all energy to the business. Scarlett's female independence reflected fully reveals the nature of its perseverance, courage and strong, not easily to give up. the process of life for each age everyone is not easy, it takes courage to live, one bow before difficulties is a life of the weak. Only overcoming difficulty, bravely face the reality can actively to solve problems, to dominate himself destiny.
