Abstract
Idioms are the crystallization of the national language and culture, in the English language occupies an important position. Translation of idioms is one of the focuses of English translation.Language structure is stable, concise, vivid image, it is the people in the process of labor and understanding of the crystallization of the world, they are mainly derived from life. In addition, it also comes from myths and historical allusions. They are the essence of language, as well as the cultural characteristics and cultural information of different ethnic groups.[ Christiane N．Text Analysis in Translation[M]．GA：Amsterdam Atlanta，1991．] They are closely connected with culture and tradition and are inseparable. As a means of interlingual communication, translation is not only a process of conversion of linguistic symbols, but also a process of cultural transplantation. Because language is the carrier of culture,Culture is the language of the survival of the soil, the two are inseparable.On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of English idioms, this paper summarizes the translation methods of English idioms.
