Abstract
The Chinese writer Jiang Rung's novel Wolf Totem is a study of prairie wolf, which is set against the Cultural Revolution. From the perspective of Chen Zhen. It revealed the process of the wolves and the Mongolian from co-existence to incompatible, and preformed the advocate of naturalism “let real people in a real life environment”; the American writer Jack London’s adventure novel The Call of the Wild, set in current Gold Rush, describes the process of "hero" Buck from civilized human society back to original wolves living. The two writers belong to different nationalities and different times, but their works reach the same goal by different means, which both expressed the human yearning for pure nature, and desire to return to nature. This thesis consists of an introduction, the main body and a conclusion. From the theme of naturalism, this thesis analyzed the selfishness and cruelty of people, and the indelible mark that the human made on nature. At the same time, it expresses the worship of nature and the awareness of environment protection.
