Abstract
As a new subject in primary school, it goes without saying that English is of great importance. The primary school English teachers should grasp the age characteristics of pupils, make full use of favorable factors, reduce or eliminate the influence of unfavorable factors, and choose appropriate teaching methods to help the pupils change from unfamiliar to familiar, cultivate their learning interest, enthusiasm and ability to learn English, and pay attention to developing their intelligence in the teaching practice. Consequently, the English teaching can achieve better results. This paper mainly focuses on four aspects of how to improve primary school English teaching. First, this paper analyzes the problems arising from the primary school English teaching, and then emphasize the importance of improving primary school English teaching, and further analyz the favorable and unfavorable factors that affect improving primary school English teaching, and finally, for the primary school English teachers how to make full use of favorable factors and reduce or eliminate the influence of unfavorable factors to improve primary school English teaching gives the effective strategies. This paper is expected to be used as a reference for primary school English teachers in how to improve primary school English teaching.
