Abstract
Diet is absolutely necessary in the life of mankind, and even in the existence or development. In the development of human society, the national diet has gradually formed its own unique culture. Chinese and American dietary culture is one of the cross-cultural communication phenomena among many forms. Firstly, this article illustrates the characteristics of China and American food culture. Then, it analyses the differences from such aspects as concepts, targets, dietary patterns and diet attribution and so on, then describes the differences between Chinese and American diet cultures and the causes of the differences. At last, it pointed out that the coexistence and integration of various food cultures will facilitate the communication between cultures of China and America. The paper analyzes the differences between Chinese and American food cultural from the perspective of intercultural communication by means of comparative analysis, summary and literature research. It analyses the cross-cultural communication, which has certain reference value and encourages people to avoid misunderstanding effectively due to differences in the two communicating parties, and also enhance the ability to conduct cross-cultural communication.

摘要
饮食是人类生活、生存与发展的必需。随着社会的发展,饮食也逐渐形成了自己独特的文化。中美饮食文化是众多跨文化交际现象之一。文章首先描写了中美各自的饮食文化特征,然后阐述双方在饮食概念、饮食目标、饮食模式和饮食归因等方面的不同以及分析产生这些不同的原因。最后,文章指出中美饮食文化的共存和一体化将促进双方文化交流。文章通过比较分析、总结归纳和文学研究等方法从跨文化交际的角度来分析中美饮食文化的差异。跨文化交际有一定的参考价值,能鼓励人们有效地避免由于交际双方的差异产生的误会,并且也能提高跨文化交际能力。
