Abstract
Idioms in Chinese words have a long history as its country, its content is rich, and its language is concise, implicit, profound, and vivid. It is the essence of the Chinese language, is a result of precipitation of Chinese culture, with strong Chinese characteristics, gems of Chinese culture. Chinese idioms have customarily fixed phrases, four words form an idiom. It reads fluently, rhythm, which is consistent with Chinese language aesthetic habits. Nowadays, cross-cultural communication is becoming more and more frequent, the importance of the translation of Chinese idioms shines out, because the translation of a Chinese idiom in a sense is equivalent to a Chinese history. Therefore, in the process of cross-cultural communication, accurate Chinese idioms translation is very important. In this paper, the author will combine with practice and summed up 5 kinds of Chinese idioms of English translation skills, namely, literal translation, free translation, literal translation and free translation.
