Abstract
Virginia Woolf, the most representative stream of consciousness novelist in the twentieth century, has created many literary work with her unique aesthetic perspective and ingenuity. The famous stream, of consciousness novel To the Lighthouse is her most representative work. The content structure of the novel requires a lot of symbolic techniques to disclose the profound meaning of things. Her delicate, poetic language and unique insight and expression enrich the characters personality and the inner spiritual world. On the one hand, she tells about life, nothingness, anxiety, and misfortune, but more importantly, she portrays the human nature and the light of life through the characteristics of certain characters in the book, depicting the rise and fall of life and the changes in the surrounding environment. Please let them get to the realm of harmony and love at exceptional moments, just like the lighthouse that lit up in the sea. On the other hand, a deeper and broader harmony can be achieved in the flow of life. It annotates the understanding of human beings and the ultimate meaning of life and pours out their own understanding of the true meaning of life in the process of consciousness of the characters.
