Abstract
Mandarin is the official language in China，however, English is the major language in the world which uses more widely in global communication and business cooperation. In the development of modern society, it is becoming very important to have the high level of English translation skills. Thus, we can strengthen the connection with many big countries of the world.
Cultural differences may difficult to observe and measure, are obviously very important. Failure to appreciate them can lead to embarrassing relationships, and drag down business performance. Being able to fully understand business partner’s language and their local traditions is important in doing business and negotiating with English speaking people. In order to express accurately in English translation, we need to know Sino-Western cultural differences and different cultural factors, also master more useful English translation methods and skills. The purpose of this thesis is to identify cross-cultural differences and explores methods to improve the quality of business English translation.
