Abstract
Lost generation have in common is suffered persecution of war and felt worried. They all leaved a hopeful role in the articles, such as the green light in the article of The Great Gatsby, Romero in The Sun Also Rises, Disley in Sound And The Fury. In addition to express strong anti-war emotion and American dream was disillusionment, I found the lost generation has another layer of meaning: they were first generation of entering the modern society, these young people, standing on the threshold of saying goodbye to yesterday and facing the future, on the one hand, they felt lost and confused, on the other hand, they were felt full of hope, full of prospects for the future and want to try new things. This thesis will analyze above opinions.
