Abstract

With the curriculum reform of English, people have been focusing on English education. The rural English education has been weak and existing with a lot of problems. The rural students have got more pressure after the old teaching material “Go for it” was changed into the new one “New Standard English”. So under the circumstance, several questions are worthy to be considered: 1. How to make the students who are faced with difficulties in learning English master the key points and difficulties more vividly and efficiently? 2. How to let them comprehend the emotion in passages and have the knowledge of emotion delivery and expression? 3. How to help them be able to use the target language to achieve the real emersion of semantic, instead of just talking about the language. Based on the investigation, drama-in-education has offered a meaningful stage to complete the procedures, and this article demonstrates the current situation in English teaching in rural middle schools, the measures on conducting dramas in English teaching, the advantages of conducting the application of drama teaching method on students, some aspects that should be noted and the final findings.
