Abstract
Intercultural communication is an academic field of study and means the communication between people from different linguistic and cultural background. At the background of globalization, Chinese and western cultural occurred interweave the collision. On the one hand, the cross-cultural communication of main purpose is to cultivate an attitude of positive understanding to different cultures. On the another hand, to development of cross-cultural communication skills. In recent years, the trend of economic globalization has increased, and exchanges between countries have become closer. More and more people participate in cross-cultural communication, whenever going abroad or staying in the country. Because of the frequent occurrence of values, ethics and moral values, national customs, and cultural conflicts, many jokes and embarrassment of people have been caused. This has seriously affected the smooth progress of communication and friendship between countries. Therefore, it is increasingly important to understand the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. The thesis is organized as follows: In chapter 1, we give a brief intruduction to the main manifestations of cultural conflict in cross-cultural communication,They are several culture conflicts:the conflicts on the sense of time, the conflicts on the traditional cultures, the conflicts on the personal privacy and the conflicts on the table manners. In chapter 2, we give a brief intruduction to the reason: The difference in the mode of thinking, The difference in the concept of value, the difference in the religious faith.
