Abstract
With the globalization of the economy and China opening its borders to the international world, English is playing a more and more significant role in people’s daily life. English education should increasingly be focused on within children at younger ages. Research show that the age from 3 to 6 years old is a sensitive period of language development, and preschool children have various advantages in learning English. However, in our country, there are still some problems with preschool children's English learning, which greatly weaken the effectiveness of preschool children's English learning. This paper will analyze the current problems and propose solutions and strategies that can be used to improve this learned from the investigation English learning situation of preschool children. Preschool English teachers need to have the following qualities: knowledge of English major, children's psychology, pedagogy and other multi-disciplinary knowledge; they should also master foreign language teaching theory and can put them all into full practice. It can be said that the requirements for teachers are very high.
