Abstract
Comparing English and Chinese, there are many different colors and ways of writing expression. Also there are great differences in the understanding of the same color. To explore the differences between color words, we should start from the differences in language habits, historical background, traditional style and other aspects.
Therefore, the study of cultural exchange and translation practice between Chinese and other foreign countries is of certain practical significance. Though understanding and grasping the differences of these color words and their composition, this paper discusses the chemistry of English and Chinese color words from semantic and pragmatic aspects.
