Abstract
There are many great writers in the history of American literature. Fitzgerald is one of them.At the same time, he also has the title of laurel poet. In his masterpiece The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald widely and successfully used symbolism in his novels, highlighting his theme, which made Fitzgerald's critical style of the American dream quite different, full of tension.
