Introduction
There are differences between Chinese and Western cultures in their understanding of "loss is a blessing". The world outlook and values as the deepest level of culture, but this difference is not absolute. We often ignore the existence of their similarities. This article selects collectivism, individualism and different ways of thinking to analyze and compare the different views on the meaning of "loss is a blessing". The author believes that these differences have brought difficulties to the family and personal life of the Chinese and Western cultural background, but ,in fact, there are no advantages and disadvantages. Different ways of thinking, language and culture can learn from each other and complement each other. We should adopt a correct attitude towards the existing differences.
