Abstract
As words reflect specific social culture, different social background and cultural difference causes the difference of cultural connotation of them. Due to cultural difference, animal words may have the same or different connotation. From the perspectives of comparative linguistics, this essay will analyze the difference and the similarities between animal words in English culture and those in Chinese culture. And the research result will greatly contribute to the linguistic study and cross-cultural communication.
