Abstract
Disaster films have received more and more attention in recent years, and human consensus on disaster provides the most reliable weight for the success of this type of film. With the global ecological crisis becoming more and more serious, people have to rethink the relationship between man and nature, and any ecological crisis will appear in its cultural carrier. This paper analyzes disaster films and disaster awareness from the perspective of culture based on Chinese and Western representative disaster films and compares the different understandings on disasters in Chinese and Western disaster films, so as to find the different cultural origins of understandings from such three aspects as philosophical tradition, religious consciousness and artistic ideas, look for more ways for the transformation and breakthrough of disaster films from the integration and coexistence of the two cultures and provide some new ideas and inspiration for people in the cultural crisis. The study on the cultural differences of Chinese and Western disaster films not only helps us to find some effective reference experience for the development of Chinese disaster films, but also makes us re-understand the relationship between man and nature, which is of great significance to improve our common living environment and enhance our sense of disaster.
