So it is obvious that English news will not only facilitate the study of all kinds of styles and manners in modern English, but also help us acquire more knowledge. This paper discusses and analyzes the main features of diction in English news texts. The paper illustrates these features of wording in English news texts, and explains the reasons for their common appearance and points out their functions.

is because the news reporters know well that the readers attach great importance to the derivation of the news.
