HOW TO APPLY SCHEMA THEORY TO ENGLISH READING TEACHING IN SENIOR MIDDLE SCHOOL

Abstract: Reading teaching is an important and necessary component of English teaching in senior middle school, and English reading is essential for the command of this language. For a long time, under the influence of the traditional teaching methodologies, English teaching process is sentence-based. As a result, the students tend to ignore the learning, accumulating and applying of the schema knowledge, which is closely related to the reading materials. This paper summarizes the basic viewpoints of schema theory; and on the basis of the existing research and the circumstance of English reading teaching and learning in senior middle school, it further inquire into the significance of application of this theory in English reading teaching and learning, in hope of helping the students to use this theory properly and improve their English reading efficiency and their level of English. Applying schema theory scientifically is very useful and helpful both to English reading teaching and English learning.

如何运用“图式”理论指导高中英语阅读教学

摘  要:阅读教学是高中英语教学的重要组成部分。英语阅读对学好英语非常重要。但长期以来,由于受传统教学法的影响,不少教师对阅读理解的错误认识导致了许多高中生只重视词、句、语法等语言知识的学习,而忽视了与阅读理解密切相关的背景知识的学习。那么如何更好地提高英语阅读能力,取得更好的英语阅读教学效果呢?运用“图式”理论来指导英语阅读教学不失为一剂良方。文章阐述了“图式”理论的基本观点,并在现有的研究成果基础之上,结合当前高中英语阅读教学的实际,分析和探讨了“图式”理论对高中英语阅读教学的指导意义,进而指导学生正确地运用“图式”理论,帮助他们提高英语阅读效率、提升英语水平。正确运用“图式”理论无论是对教师的英语教学还是对学生的英语学习都大有裨益。
