On Culture Connotations and Translation of English Allusions
from the Perspective of Historic Events
Abstract: Allusions are essential elements in literature language. English allusions have rich sources in history. Today every side of social life becomes a constant provider of allusions. As far as cultural globalization is concerned, the integration and diversity of culture make a possible coexistence of different cultures. Translation becomes a means of cultural spreading and illuminating, which leads to the tendency of foreignization in translating English allusions. In this paper, the translation of English allusions is going to be discussed mainly from the perspective of historic events by means of foreignization with interpretative compensation in order to deal with cross-culture communication in an appropriate way and understand cultural connotations of English allusions properly and finally reconstruct them in the target language.

从历史事件看英语典故的文化内涵与翻译
摘 要:典故是文学语言中不可或缺的元素,英语典故历史悠久,来源广泛,新的典故随着社会文化生活的发展还在不断出现。在全球化的大背景下,文化趋同成为不可避免的趋势,翻译实际上已经成了一种传播和文化阐释,这就使英语典故的翻译倾向了异化。本文以典故的历史事件翻译为例说明译者需借助异化加注释补偿才能正确理解典故的文化内涵,更好地进行跨文化交流,并对其进行源语文化重构。
