摘 要
本文试图从文化可译性的基本理论出发,以林语堂翻译的《浮生六记》英译本作为具体研究对象拟解决如下问题:第一,通过研读前人对文化可译性的研究,抛开以往学者仅从语言层面单一讨论可译性的问题,结合具体实例在原文和译文的比较下深入认证文化的可译性。第二,通过对影响可译性的文化机制的研究,分析可译性限度产生的根源及解决途径,探讨如何化不可译为可译,有效的提高译文的质量,促进跨文化的交流。

ABSTRACT
This paper will start from the basic theories of cultural translatability, taking Lin Yutang’s English translation of Six Chapters of a Floating Life as an example, and probe into the following two aspects: firstly, to testify the translatability of different cultures by the study of previous scholars’ research and the analysis of detailed examples, avoiding the discussion of translatability from linguistics only; secondly, to elaborate on the root and solutions of the untranslatable by looking into cultural obstructions, and on how to improve the quality of translation and cross-cultural communication, turning the untranslatable into the translatable.
