A Comparative Study of Two Translation Editions of A Rose for Emily
Abstract: Proceeding from a study of the original English text, this paper aims at sorting out translation methods, skills, theories and strategies used in translation practice, with reference to Mr. Yang Qishen’s translation edition (Yang’s edition), so as to find out problems, achieve desirable translation effect, and, finally, to make my own translation coherent and integrated. Besides, a study of William Faulkner’s life and other works will be made to get an insight into the author’s canonicity in general and his language in particular.

爱米丽的一朵玫瑰两种翻译版本对比研究
摘 要 本论文旨在对英文文本本身分析的基础上,对原文各要素连点成线、集线成面地进行综合,明确翻译的目的,在英译汉翻译实践过程中运用相应的方法、技巧及策略,达到预期的翻译效果,使译文全篇确切通顺、和谐统一。进而通过与杨岂深译本(杨译)的对比,分析其高明之处,以总结翻译的原则和策略。透彻分析英文文本本身,主要是词义的分析,内容包括翻译过程中常识的运用,语境及言外之意的理解,结合威廉·福克纳的生平及作品进行研究,对英文文本有一个总体把握后,进而有效地将相关的翻译理论与实践结合起来,完成英译汉,再从译者的角度出发,对比杨译,撰写报告以回顾整个英译汉翻译实践过程中遇到的问题、不足之处、解决方法、心得及体会。
