Abstract
Values refer to a person’s comprehensive comments and viewpoints of the significance and importance about the objective things around. Different cultural backgrounds between China and America result in different values. Film, as a kind of artistic form which concentrates on spreading culture values, also reflects a country’s cultural mode intuitively. Watching American films is a good way to learn about American culture and values as they represent the mainstream cultural valuesof American society. This thesis selects “Captain American” as case study, and analyzes the cultural value differences through the film, such as the team spirit and personal heroism. Meanwhile, it exploresthe reasons behind these differences, which helps to prove that different cultural values reflected in the films is good for cross-cultural communication.
