Abstract
The Great Gatsby is one of the master works by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The novel chronicles an era that Fitzgerald himself dubbed the Jazz Age. The paper makes an analysis on the three women character from different social classes in the novel: Daisy Buchanan, Jordan Baker, and Myrtle Wilson, then makes an analysis on the differences and similarities of the three characters. The paper tries to point out the causes of their characters from the social background, women’s social position, and Fitzgerald’s attitude towards woman, and thinks that their characters. In the end, the paper reveals that the money worship of the whole society during that time is the root of the tragedies of the three women.
