Abstract
The proverb is an interesting linguistic phenomenon. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the factors that may influence the translation, introduce four translation methods including the applying translation, word-for-word translation, paraphrasing and the combination of literal translation & free translation. The paper also provides two translation techniques.
