Abstract
With the speed of internationalization becomes faster and faster, the relationship between China and the Western is closer and closer. The intercourse between two countries’ people becomes more and more frequent. Wine is also necessary in interactions. To learn more about the cultural difference of wine between two countries can make the banquet be held successfully. In this thesis we will discuss the cultural difference of toast between China and the Western countries. The main differences are as follows: the preference of wine, the seat order, the rule of toast, the toast diction and reasons for the different toast cultures. Then we analyze the causes of the toast cultural differences between China and the Western countries from aspects of way of thinking and way of expression. To know more about the toast cultures of different countries will help us to promote cross-cultural communications.
