Abstract

Hemingway is a famous American writer in 19th century. He wrote the influential novel named The Old Man And The Sea which won the Nobel Prize novels of the literary in 1954. Hemingway created a hero who is never give up to future, challenges bravely, heroism complex, loneliness and kindness. He placed himself in Santiago on a deep understanding of human nature and beliefs. The novel was write after the World Wars which also express the spirit of Hemingway in that time. It effects so many people no matter nation and race.

    This thesis will brief introduce the Hemingway’s experiences and the social background of Hemingway’s age. Analyze the characters of Santiago in novel we called “Code Hero”. It will introduce what we can learn from Santiago in our daily life and the attitude we should take when facing the difficulties.
