Abstract
The world is a pluralistic development. Because of diversity formed different culture. Due to individual differences, differences in geographical environment, cultural differences, historical changes in the expression of different color words. Each association and the significance of color words have different understanding. Through the understanding of color words, we can make us better understand Chinese culture and English culture, also more conducive to international cultural exchange. This paper introduces the differences in Chinese cultural connotations by introducing and comparing the basic colors of English and Chinese color words: red, yellow, white, black, green and blue, and how to use and different meanings in Chinese and English. Commonality. Finally, by comparing the influence of color words on society and history, the influence of geographical location and climatic conditions on language development. Geographical and climatic conditions also affect the development of language. China is mainly a country of agriculture, the English-speaking countries are mainly navigable countries and people have different preferences for color.
