Abstract
As we know, Jane Eyre is the heroine of novel Jane Eyre which wrote by British writer Charlotte Bronte in the 19th century. Jane’s parents died when she was a child and she is raised by Mrs. Reed, her cruel, wealthy aunt-in-law. Mrs. Reed treats her badly and final sends her to a charity school. This kind of adversity has made her self-esteem, independence, dare to love and hate. When she fell in love with Rochester, the love was pure, deep and restrained. But when she found that her love was contrary to morality, she did not hesitate to abandon love and become a moral self-discipline woman. Her behavior deserves people's respect and admiration. This paper reveals the woman’s love view totally has been changed since Victorian time. In a marriage, a woman is no longer always an accessory of her husband. She needs to be respected and loved same as a man. In today’s world with rapid economic development, unfortunately, women’s consciousness on love view is signs of historical of regression. Many girls want to marry to a man who has wealth and society status but without love between them, even some women want to stay with this kind man who already married. It seems the phenomenon become very popular. It is necessary to encourage women re-read classics like Jan Eyre. It is time to re-build correct values about female self-discipline and independence, this is the women’s only way for achieving the happy life.
