Abstract
Poetry is not only a beautiful psychological product in the process of human history, but also contains a wealth of deep cultural information, which is an indispensable material for the study of human culture and history. Poetry translation is an important part of deep cultural exchanges among different ethnic groups.
But it is widely accepted that the difficulty in poetry translation is due to the difficulty in cultural transfer. Poems are difficult, which is the consensus of translation. This paper tries to discuss the crucial role of cultural factors in the process of English Chinese poetry translation, based on the theory and practice of Chinese and foreign poetry translators. Besides, it also intend to summarize some methods about the cultural factors of transformation and adaptation.
