Abstract
In current society, cross-cultural communication has played an important part in people’s life. Thus, having a good command of English and understanding English culture is of great significance in cross-cultural communication. Film is one of the indispensable cultural carriers in the world today. It brings a lot of audio-visual feasts with rich and colorful content to people. At the same time, for English learners, the original English movies also provide them with a pure language learning environment, and it can be regarded as one of the most ideal foreign language learning tools. In this paper, the author will make an analysis of the effect of using films and TVs on English culture learning. Generally, the author will emphasize that films can convey a lot of cultural elements to audience. And the author thinks it is necessary to watch English films and TVs to integrate cultural background into English language learning. Only in this way can we achieve the real target of language learning. At the same time, cross-cultural communicative ability can be also improved.
