Abstract
No matter which country, how to promote the internationalization, achieve mutual understanding and support beyond the borders has become more and more important research topics, and the successful cooperation, mutual communication between people is the most basic condition, so more and more people pay attention to the role of foreign language education in China in the future society. The economy will be more international, international economic and technological cooperation and exchanges will also continue to increase. It is an urgent task to develop all kinds of foreign language education in various levels and to cultivate a sufficient number of compound workers with foreign language communicative ability. In this research, it will focus on the analysis of development stages of China's modern foreign language education and the outstanding characteristics from 1911 to 1949, and puts forward relevant countermeasures to promote the development of modern foreign language education in China. The research of this topic can provide some reference for later research.
