Abstract
Tourism text is versatile with the purposes by through the detailed description of the tourist attractions which enhances the appeal of them and provides the readers, also the potential travelers at the meantime with rich and effective information. It is aimed to make readers enjoy the beauty of the text and then to attract the tourists’ attention, which is known as vocative function of translation, its main function. This makes the translation of scenic-spot introductions quite different from the translation of other practical writings.
Analyzing the English version of scenic-spot introduction of Hangzhou reveals the common problems in translation and then exposes them respectively to the light of text features and Chinese-English language differences which emphasizes to be fully aware of the different ways and angles to understand the beauty between Chinese and Western culture. Based on that, this paper analyzes the structure of the text in both original and translated version to look for effective translation strategies to promote the development of Chinese tourism.
