Abstract
English learning is very popular today. Almost every student has to learn it. Dating back to 1911-1945, the status of English education was different. The author will focus on that time span, focus on that time’s English education. Some even assume there is very weak in English education back then. Actually this idea is wrong. After survey and reviewing a lot of historical documents, we find English study was very common and popular that time. It had a lot of famous English experts, translators, English educators and writers. This paper is about the status of English education during 1911-1945, possibly will change your view on this topic.
The author analyzed the era background first to make sure readers understand his idea from big picture. Then the author analyzed the traits by comparison between that time and today. At last as a promotion of this paper the author try to extract several points of lessons from old days for the use of today and future English education.
