Abstract

English Vocabulary relates sound and grammar, which is the the basis of learning English. Without vocabulary, communication in any form is impossible. Studies have shown that the larger a person's vocabulary, the more accurate he or she will be in reading, and the better he or she will be in listening and writing. Anyone who has mastered a foreign language knows clearly that the majority of the time is spent mastering the vocabulary of the language. The amount of information in the vocabulary far exceeds the amount of information in the rest of the language. Vocabulary learning is critical to both language understanding and language output. Vocabulary is an important factor that restricts vocabulary learning in foreign language. Although senior high school English teachers attach great importance to vocabulary teaching, but there are still many problems in the teaching activities. In the following part, I will discuss two topics, the analysis of problems occur in current senior high school English vocabulary teaching and some strategies to benefit the teaching of vocabulary teaching.
