Abstract
English and Chinese are the two major languages in the world, representing the two major Chinese and Western cultures, belonging to two different language families. English is a phonetic alphabet and belongs to the Indo-European language. Chinese is an ideogram that belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family. In the process of communication, the sentence is the most basic language unit. English learning must be able to fully understand the syntactic differences between English and Chinese. English and Chinese languages belong to different language families, which determines their differences in syntactic level. This paper intends to compare the differences between English sentences and Chinese sentences, and analyze the specific manifestations of these differences in language applications.
