Abstract
Nuclear power construction claim letter is written in a formal style of both nuclear power English and claim letter. Beginning with the theory of stylistics and translation strategies, this paper analyzes and expounds the features of nuclear power construction claim letter, and proposes Chinese-English translation strategies of nuclear power construction claim letter. Nuclear power construction claim letter has its unique stylistic characteristics. An analysis of the stylistic features of the nuclear power construction claim letter can help the translator to understand the original text. In general, the more thoroughly the original text is understood, the more accurate the translation is. After analysis, it is concluded that the features of nuclear power construction claim letter include the characteristics of words (nuclear power professional nouns, abbreviations), the characteristics of sentences (concise, formal, polite and common), and characteristics of format. The translation strategies of nuclear power construction claim letter include translating in the reverse order, conversion between Active Voice and Passive Voice, and omission and the method of division. On the basis of understanding, it is finally possible to translate the nuclear power construction claim letter accurately and correctly. The author hopes this paper is able to provide help for the Chinese-English translation of nuclear power construction claim letter.
