Abstract
Dickens's famous novel "The Two Cities" takes the French Revolution as the background, reflecting the sharp class opposition and fierce class struggle between France and Britain at that time, especially the two cities of Paris and London. Through the experience of various characters and the analysis of human nature, it shows the justice and inevitability of the revolution. However, the author also strongly advocates the use of benevolence and forgiveness to resolve hatred, and shows the author's humanitarian thoughts. Literature is human science. Since the Renaissance, humanitarian issues have always revolved around how to look at "people." Every writer must always use the characters he has created to express his humanitarian thoughts.
