Cultural Difference Analysis Through Two Video Productions Of Eastern And Western Fantasy Literature
Abstract: Among the many video productions, those edited from the great literary masterpieces are often enjoyed. Since computer technology has developed, video productions edited from fantasy literature have become a branch of the video industry. Audiences have chances to enjoy fine presentations combining famous actors and modern technology with complex plots of literary works. Examining eastern and western video productions of fantasy literature is a good way to analyze cultural differences of East and West. In this thesis, two famous works, Lord of the Rings and Journey to the West, are discussed and compared in order to research cultural differences from analyzing aspects like themes, motifs, background, world views and specific elements through presentations of eastern and western video productions.

摘 要 在众多影视作品中，改编自文学名著的影视作品一直是备受瞩目的，随着电脑技术的不断发展，改编自奇幻文学的作品已成为影视产业的分支之一。在欣赏这类作品的时候，观众能在跌宕起伏的故事情节，精湛绝伦的电脑特技，以及著名的电影明星的融合表现体中大饱眼福。由于文化和思维方式的差异，东西方奇幻文学影视作品的表现具有明显的不同。本论文选择了美国好莱坞的《魔戒》三部曲和中国的《西游记》电视剧作为典型代表，分析两部影视作品在主题，主旨，背景，世界观和细小元素表现上的差异，并且透过这些差异来分析东西方文化差别，以及它们对相关影视作品的内容和表现形式等方面的深远影响。
