A Study on the Characteristics of Singapore English
Abstract: With the development of economic globalization, communication is used more frequently. The global language—— English plays an indispensable role in the world. Singapore is a small multi-ethnic country, and English is its official language, due to the factors of a multi-ethnic country and a post-colonized district, Singapore English has become a characteristic of English. This paper will analyze the differences between Standard English and Singapore English on the sound, grammar and the vocabulary, and sum up the characteristics of Singapore English. Therefore, this paper analyzes that Singapore English not only illustrates the national identity recognition of Singapore, but also has a place in the promotion of the globalization of English.

新加坡英语特色的探析
摘 要:随着经济全球化趋势的发展,人们的交流也愈加频繁。作为世界语言,英语在国际上起着不可或缺的作用。而新加坡是一个多民族的移民国家,英语是其官方语言,由于受多民族等因素的影响,使得新加坡英语成为一种比较有特色的英语。本文研究新加坡英语与标准英语在语音、语法以及词汇方面的差异,归纳出新加坡英语的特点,从而说明新加坡英语不仅阐释了新加坡本地自我认同的标志,而且在推进新加坡英语世界化中占有一席之地。
