Ode to Life -- A Brief Analysis of Perseverance in Love of Life
Abstract
Jack London is one of the most famous American authors in 20th century. He is famous for his north-style novels in which the heroes infect readers with strong willpower and inner world. Love of Life, one of his most well-known stories, describes a man called ‘He’ by Jack London. He was deserted by his partner in desolate marsh, but fought perseveringly alone and finally survived. The great spirit of the hero has influenced readers for generations.
This essay briefly analyzes the hero’s character trait, such as perseverance and strong willpower etc. in that hard environment. It contains four parts: a brief introduction to Jack London, the hero’s willpower during his fighting for living, the perseverance after he was rescued by the scientific ship and the influence of his spirit on that time of Jack London and on the modern society.
