Tentative Analysis of Stephen Krashen’s Monitor Theory and Reading Acquisition

Abstract: Stephen Krashen’s Monitor Theory has enjoyed considerable prominence in Second Language Acquisition. This theory consists of five central hypotheses and several factors which influence SLA and which is concerned with these hypotheses. Reading is always a problem during the second language learning. In order to make clear the problems that learners encounter, a questionnaire is conducted, in which the reading problems are shown. This essay mainly analyzes how to settle the reading problems and what an efficient reading process should be according to Krashen’s hypotheses. The aim of this essay is to come up with several effective methods to guide learners to acquire English language.

浅析克拉申监控理论与阅读习得

摘  要：克拉申的监控理论在二语习得方面一直享有很高的声誉。监控理论由五个中心的假说和一些影响二语习得的因素组成，这些因素在很大程度上也影响着这些假说。一直以来阅读对英语非母语的学习者来说都是一个难题。为了了解学习者存在的阅读问题，本文对一些学习者在阅读上碰到的问题也进行了搜集调查。同时，文章的主旨在于通过对克拉申假说的分析和了解逐步得出一些有效解决阅读问题的方法和手段。
