Abstract
With cultural exchanges growing, tourism translation plays an important role in the transmission and dissemination of Chinese culture. Tourism translation of traditional handicrafts needs to be based on the transmission of Chinese culture and analysis of cultural information.
This thesis is based on the author's translation practice of traditional handicrafts in Workmanship Demonstration Pavilion. Since these four traditional arts have been listed into the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the translation itself bears the responsibility of carrying forward Chinese traditional culture.
Here within this study, the author mainly adopts Peter Newmark's Semantic Translation theory and employs translation methods including transformation, interpretation, annotation, deletion and adjustment to preserve the characteristics of Chinese culture and convey the information to the readers more accurately and effectively.
