Abstract
This theses analyses and summarizes the status quo of college English teaching in China. The literature review discusses the relationships between language and culture in the first place. Secondly, it describes the extreme situations of English language teaching (ELT) in China. Once more, it makes a brief introduction of Chinese teaching environment. And it emphasizes the necessity of introducing of Chinese culture into college English teaching in the end of literature review. After that there is a survey study about learners’ perception of culture teaching in EFL, which can reflect the current situation of ELT. Finally, the author puts forward some suggestions for the discoverable problems in ELT. I hope this article can make a contribution to spreading Chinese culture to the world.
